A weekend in Kyoto

You

Help me plan a quiet weekend in Kyoto. More little streets, less rushing.

ChatGPT

Leave room to wander. Here’s a slower way to see the city.

Saturday · East of the river

Start with a walk along the Philosopher’s Path, stop for tea, then explore the small lanes around Higashiyama.

A good plan leaves space for the unexpected.

Keep a copy before
you need a way back.

These community reports concern AI platform account access and official data-export processes. They explain why it helps to keep a copy before you need to request one.

Community experiences with AI platforms and their official export processes — these are not reports of using OwnMyChats.

How OwnMyChats approaches backup

OwnMyChats is designed to save accessible conversations directly to your computer and keep checking for changes, while your platform access still works. It does not wait for an official export package. Copies already saved can be read and exported locally; content never backed up cannot be recovered after access is lost.

Save it. Keep it.
Come back to it.

A browser extension for access. A desktop app for your library. One simple place for the conversations you want to keep.

1

Connect your browser

Sign in to a supported platform and authorize the extension. Your platform login stays in the browser.

2

Choose where it lives

Confirm the account, destination and check schedule. Ongoing backup needs the app, browser connection and a subscription.

3

Make it useful again

Read your saved copy, find a sentence, revisit a local version, or export a file you can open.

See what your copy can do

On your computer.
On your terms.

Your saved conversations belong in a place you can open. The website doesn’t receive your chat content, and stopping your subscription won’t lock you out of your existing local data.

A local copy is not a promise of perfect recovery. Save while content is accessible, check your files, and keep a separate backup of your computer.

How we handle your data

Two to start.
Eight in view.

ChatGPT and Claude are in development preview. The others are future work, with Gemini next. Every platform earns its own verified support.

A few things
worth knowing.

Visit the help center
Does my chat content go to this website?+

No. The website provides information and availability subscriptions. The extension reads content you authorize in your browser; backups are saved by the desktop app on your computer.

What is free?+

Single-chat export is free and works independently in the extension. Bulk backup and ongoing updates will require one subscription, with the same features on monthly and annual plans. Membership is $12.99/month or $128/year; early bird is $88 for the first year, then $128/year. No early-bird end date has been set. Purchasing is not available yet.

Which platforms can I use today?+

ChatGPT and Claude are in a limited macOS and Chromium development preview. No public installer or store listing is available yet. The other six platforms are research and roadmap items.

Can it recover a banned account?+

It cannot restore access or retrieve content that was never saved. Content already backed up locally remains available to read and export.

Will every attachment and branch be saved?+

Not yet. Accessible resources in the supported scope are attempted; missing files, branches and special content have limits. A preview or transcript is not the original file.

What happens if I stop subscribing?+

Your existing local data remains readable and exportable. Future rules for new paid backups, offline validation and device limits will be published before purchase is available.
